How to store Urban Spirit Vodka

How to store Urban Spirit Vodka

Whether you’ve just picked up a new bottle or are wondering how to keep an opened one at its best, you’re in the right place. Here's everything you need to know about storing your vodka the right way — especially when it comes to a premium spirit like Urban Spirit.
Vodka is a distilled spirit with a long shelf life, but that doesn't mean storage doesn't matter.

To preserve its quality and flavour, proper storage is essential. Let’s break it down.

STORING UNOPENED VODKA
An unopened bottle of vodka can last virtually forever, but to maintain peak quality:
Store in a cool, dark place – Room temperature is fine, though slightly cooler (like
in a cellar) is ideal.

  • Avoid direct sunlight – UV exposure speeds up evaporation and can degrade the
    spirit over time.
  • Keep it upright – Especially for Urban Spirit, which uses cork closures. Unlike wine,
vodka should not be stored on its side, as prolonged contact with the cork can affect the taste.

STORING OPENED VODKA
Once opened, vodka needs a little more care:

  • Keep the bottle upright and continue storing it in a cool, dark place.
  • Refrigeration is ideal – We recommend keeping Urban Spirit in the fridge. It stays
chilled and ready to serve while preserving its delicate flavour.

FREEZER OR FRIDGE?
Freezing vodka doesn’t damage it — and the thicker texture from freezing can be enjoyable.
However, freezing can mute certain flavour compounds, especially in high-quality vodkas
like Urban Spirit.

  • For a full flavour experience, serve premium vodka chilled, not frozen, ideally
    between 0–5°C.
  • Think of it like red wine — too cold, and you lose the nuance.
That said, there’s no wrong way to enjoy it. But if you want to taste vodka at its finest, the fridge is your best bet.

WHAT ABOUT FLAVOURED VODKA?
Flavoured vodkas, like our cherry-infused variety, have a shorter shelf life once opened:

  • Best consumed within 6 months of opening.
  • Homemade infusions should be enjoyed even sooner, as fresh ingredients reduce
    longevity.

In summary: Store vodka upright, away from light, and preferably chilled (not frozen) —
especially when it’s a high quality spirit like Urban Spirit. Treat it well, and it’ll return the favour in every sip.
